Meet Angela!

With over 12 years of experience in the hair industry, I’ve proudly built my career working in Kirkintilloch and Lenzie.

I qualified from the College of Commerce and, over the years, have completed a wide range of additional courses in colour, hair-ups and bridal styling, children’s cutting, alternative cuts and styles, fashion colours, and so much more.

While I absolutely love every aspect of hairdressing, my real passion lies in fashion colours and alternative styles. I love getting creative, trying something a little different, and helping my guests bring their ideas to life. Whether you have a bold colour in mind or simply want a cut that works for your personality and lifestyle, I’ll always do my best to help you find the perfect look.

My hair philosophy is simple: I’ll do my best to get you to your destination, but you have to sit back, enjoy the journey, and trust me to get you there. Sometimes achieving your dream colour or style takes a little time, but I’ll always be honest about the process and work with you to get the best possible result for your hair.

The best part of my job is seeing someone leave my chair feeling confident, refreshed and happy. I want everyone who sits in my chair to feel comfortable, safe and completely themselves. I want you to feel like you’re sitting down for a chat with a friend — because, let's be honest, I’m probably going to do a lot of talking! I’d like to think I’m best known for my creative colours, although my big personality and ability to gab might give them a run for their money!

After some unforeseen circumstances left me without a place to work from, I was lucky enough to have the help, heart and amazing brain of Emily. Together, we came up with the idea of creating a salon that feels different — somewhere that isn’t clinical or intimidating, but instead feels warm, welcoming, safe and homey. And that’s how The Wallflower Beauty Co. came to life.

We wanted to create a space that feels like a home from home — somewhere you can relax, be yourself, express who you are and feel completely comfortable in your surroundings.   • I recommend sending over your inspiration pictures at the time of booking, so that I have sufficient time to gather any additional products that I might need for your appointment! I.e.Specific fashion colours.

  • Maybe - but your hair’s starting point and condition will determine what’s achievable.

  • All new clients must complete a patch test at least 48 hours before their appointment. If the required patch test has not been completed within this timeframe, the service cannot be provided. For existing clients, a patch test must be completed every 6 months to ensure their details and suitability remain up to date.

  • Yes - that’s part of the consultation.

Angela's Advice:

  • Most styles will last between 6-8 weeks but some lower maintenance options can last as long as 18 weeks.

  • Toners are quite personal, and it depends on how often you wash your hair, and how often you heat style, as well as, the colour you have. If you have platinum hair, it could be as soon as 2 to 3 weeks to need a refresh. If you have darker caramel hair, your toner may last until your next appointment.

  • Highlights are more high maintenance and give more of a full colour, whereas, Balayage is much more low maintenance and is better for a lived in colour.

  • Washing your hair with cooler water, washing your hair less frequently, and always making sure you use heat protection on your hair, are my 3 must-dos to make your hair colour last longer.

  • For salon-worthy hair, you need to invest in high-quality salon-grade products. A lot of high-street products contain parabens and micro-plastics which coat the hair, making it feel great just after a wash, but it can make your hair dull and limp over time.

  • My top 3 tips for maintaining blonde hair are; using conditioning masks every 3rd wash, using a good-quality, purple shampoo that doesn't dry your hair out, and always get at least a dusting cut off of your hair every appointment to avoid breakage.

  • Anyone who has been in my chair knows the saying 'you wouldn't put your hand in an oven without a glove'. Heat protector helps to keep your colour safe, it helps prevent split ends and it’s a must-have if you don’t want crispy hair, I even advise using it in the sun to stop colour fade. I know if I could only have 1 thing in my tool kit, it would always be heat protector.

Angela’s Essentials:

    For Hydration

    For Blondes
