After weeks of painting, decorating, building, cleaning, organising, problem-solving and more trips to the shops than we’d like to admit… The Wallflower Beauty Co. is officially open!
What started as an idea between the two of us has finally become a real little salon in the heart of Kirkintilloch, and we still can’t quite believe we get to call it ours.
From an Empty Space to Wallflower
When we first got the keys, there was a lot of work ahead of us. We wanted to create something that felt completely different from your typical salon: somewhere colourful, relaxed and full of personality.
With a lot of help from our friends and family, our little space slowly started to come together. Walls were plastered and painted, wallpaper went up, stations and shelving were built, furniture arrived and, eventually, all of the weird and wonderful finishing touches found their homes.
Every corner of Wallflower has been chosen, built or decorated with a little bit of us in it.
And after all the dust, paint and chaos, seeing the salon completely finished for the first time was pretty surreal.
More Than Just a Salon
We wanted Wallflower to feel like somewhere you actually enjoy spending time.
Yes, you can come in for beautiful hair and nails, but we also want you to feel comfortable enough to grab a coffee, have a chat, browse our salon book swap or simply switch off for a while.
Expect funky décor, plenty of colour, flowers, slightly witchy touches and probably something new to spot every time you visit.
Beauty doesn’t have to feel intimidating or overly polished. Wallflower is about doing things a little differently and creating a space where everyone can feel welcome.
Hair, Nails & Beauty in Kirkintilloch
Between the two of us, Wallflower brings hair and nail services together under one roof.
Angela is behind the hair side of Wallflower, while Emily looks after all things nails, including: Builder Gel (BIAB), Gel X, Hard Gel, Acrylic, Gel Manicures, nail art and pedicures.
Whether you’re coming in for a complete change, your regular maintenance appointment or just a little bit of time to yourself, we want every visit to feel relaxed, friendly and completely you.
Our Opening Day
Opening the doors and finally welcoming everyone into Wallflower was the moment all of the work became worth it.
Seeing friends, family, clients and local faces coming through the door to support us meant more than we can put into words.
To everyone who visited, shared our posts, booked an appointment, brought us something, helped with the salon or simply wished us luck, thank you.
And an especially huge thank you to all of the friends and family who helped us turn an empty space into the salon we’d been imagining. We genuinely couldn’t have done it without you.
This Is Just the Beginning
Opening Wallflower feels like the end of one very chaotic chapter, but really, it’s only the beginning.
We’ve got lots of ideas for the salon, our services and our little Wallflower community; and we’re excited to share them with you as we grow.
